Steering or Wheel Joint Problem ???

Hi,
This is a hard one to describe so please bear with me. When I go in reverse first thing with max lock there is a quiet clunk that occurs ( to me it sounds as if it is from the offside front wheel ), When I then move ahead there is occasinally this strange side ways movement at the front as if the car was on ice - I don't know if any others have exoerienced this and if I should be worried - the tyres are wearing normally so no clues there and the car handles normally after that early morning twitch!!
Any ideas welcome.

Yes mine 'skits' on full-ish lock.

My tyres are at about 4mm, Yokahoma C-Drive's.

Something characteristic of Mercedes suspension/steering of old was quite an impressive lock on the steering where the road wheel would actually lean right over on full lock, I haven't tried this on mine but if the Q30 does this it would explain that odd contact with the road surface.

I also notice the engine tone gets deeper/loaded on full lock but guessing that's just the suspension and engine mounts being loaded slightly more.

Hi, Many thanks for your reply - will just have to put up with it - but I am relieved you are not suggesting CV joint is about to fail or some other drastic mechanical failure!!
Kind Regards,
