Hi all,
I wonder if anyone has faced any similar problem.
Just recently reset InTouch Apps to factory reset, because DAB doesn't receive any signal - only station name. However, instead of getting the DAB problem fixed, I lost all Apps, including map, DAB, and many others, back to something very basic.
I tried to install the Apps several time from the menu, without success. It took ages with no sign of progress. How do I get all the Apps back?
Because Infiniti doesn't continue its business in the UK, where should I take my car to fix it?
It is q30 d1.5 2017

Thanks.

Hi, Sorry to hear you have issues. For info Nissan are honouring the warranty on these cars. Is your car still in the three year warranty? If you go to infinity UK and look for servicing and repair pages there should be a Nissan dealer near you? I have one 65miles from me. Alternatively, book it in for a service with your local nissan infiniti approved garage when a service is due as they have the equipment to fix this for you.
All is not lost. 😁🖐

I had the same issue after replacing the battery. Unfortunately the car is out of warranty so the service doesn't bother with reprogramming the control unit and they suggest a control unit replacement ($1770AUD).

I have downloaded the open source software and I'll try to update the SW in hope to get all the apps back.

Will let you know if there is any success

Hi! I’m Mario Bernardo from Italy. I have the same issue with my Infiniti Q30. I entered in a secret menu and after a data and system reset, proximity sensors, Dab, navigator and cameras don’t work. I just bought a pen on the official USA Infiniti site with last OS. I tried to flash it but it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Mario,

Can you please let me know from where did you bought the software update?

In my case, there is nothing faulty with the unit, just missing the software setup so I believe that we just need to update the current version of the os/software but I'm not able to find the latest os.

In the meantime I went to 2 other mechanics (one of them was nissan official) and they both said that the control unit is faulty but they didn't had any explanation why the camera is working the first time I put it in reverse.

Cheers,
Nikola

Hi everyone, in my humble opinion resetting the software would not cause a hardware fault. It may have wiped the board firmware (OS) and the app (SW) which would then flag an issue with the control unit being faulty as the handshaking response will not be correct with the standard diagnostic software. With the correct programming it would be good as new.
The issue we all have is the level of technical ability that nissan and independent garages have as the infotainment unit is nissan not mercedes designed and with Infiniti no longer in europe technical support is diminishing rapidly.
I think Mario has the correct idea, as infiniti USA maybe able to sort this but it might involve removing the control unit and shipping it to them.
So to answer Mario and Nikola.
I think Mario got the software, but there is no board firmware so the software will not load and with Nikola, the hardware switch for the VGA camera input still works but the software cant respond correctly and I think you are both looking for the same solution of board firmware and software application.

Cheers. Cornish.

I just bought this one. I can see in the secret menu that the connections are all working. When I connect the pen, it flash for only 1 minute to 3200 Input I/O. There aren’t apps when system reloads. On the pen there are a video folder, an audio folder and a Bios file .bin

I just bought a SVCI ING DIAGNOSTIC, but It doesn’t connect to ECU to program it.

I just find Consult III plus, but for programming the right firmware I need Nissan Asist too.
In my region Nissan and Infiniti Dealers refuse to give me assistance.

The right procedure:

Identify ECU part number: 28387-4DAOB is mine.

Open Asist and create a pen with this ECU number.

Then flash firmware
Ok, sounds promising 😀

I have several questions:
  • where can I find/buy Asist software?
  • where to plug the usb (2 front ports or flash a sd card into the nav slot) and do I need a specific format (fat32, ext4...)?
  • which option should I use to flash the firmware/update the software?
  • Can I identify the ecu through the menu or I need to take out the control unit?

Or if there is a document for the procedure, please let me know so I can do the research on my own.

I was ready to buy the after market android radio from aliexpress but would give another chance to the original one.

Cheers,
Nikola

I haven’t software. I bought the pen in the link that updates only I/O to 3200 version. I think that on the pen there is a generic firmware. The right DCU firmware has to be created on diagnostic connect to ECU and is different for any ECU part number, and so for every car.

I bought a new Android Radio on aliexpress two weeks ago, but I have a dubt: are we sure that changing radio with an Android one is the solution? I hope that all works, because I spent 500 euros for this aftermarket radio, and I hope that the quality sound is the same of the original one.

Is it possible that all information regarding the DCU is stored on the SD card?

I found one SW update from the original provider (Denso navi) and the first step to update the software with their USB is to unlock the SD card used for the navigation.

It doesn't make much sense as if we lose the SD card we will lose all data/functionality but that is what they mentioned in the manual.

I have sent them an email with a purchase request for the USB with the software and I'll wait for their reply. Also I will analyse the data on the SD card, deep scan for recently deleted files and if that is true, I have a friend with the same model car, I can make an image and share it with you.

Hi mate,

Any luck with updating the software on the original DCU or you installed the aftermarket one?

I wish I saw this article this morning, I have done a factory reset on mine as I was having bluetooth issues and it has wiped everything, I have no radio, navigation, camera, sensors, RADAR.

Infiniti are absolute crap. Disgusting software - why on earth would it wipe the entire system.
