Hi

Possibly a silly question, but I’m changing all 4 of my tyres from run flats to non.
Just wanted to confirm if I would be required to change all pressure sensors also, or ok to keep the existing ones?

Also, if anyone has changed their tyres to non run flats, do you just keep a tyre repair kit in the boot or advise getting a spare/space saver?

Hi Roy. Current sensors will be fine if yours are not giving you any issues.😃
Up to you to get space saver or gunk or maybe plugs and an inflator? 🙃 Some models with the Bose audio have a sub woofer in the boot so cannot have spare wheel in there😖 I have tyre plugs and an inflator as my own preference. Some Gunk can kill the sensors I have read and they are about £35 each. You can rotate the tyres no issues too with the sensors you have. Car just relearns the sensor positions.
A couple of chaps have changed from RFT non RFT here, just search for the threads. 🧐 Is all good, less crashy and better ride without the pesky RFTs. A35 and A45 Merc all use non RFT with more power than we have. Merc had issues with 19" rims RFTs causing rim cracking over pot holes.
My 19" were out of round when I checked on my wheel balancer at 6k miles due to bad road surfaces ☹. Nothing uncommon on UK roads I have read 😅
I would like good set of 17" that will fit over my sport spec discs as I am after a 55 ratio tyre so I can bounce over the pot holes.

The Michelin Pilot road series tyres are highly rated I believe 👍 Our fellow member Trackstar replaced all his RFT tyres to non-RFT I think too.

Thanks so much for the advice mate, quite an interesting read.
Mine doesn’t have the Bose audio so I could get a space saver but I think I’ll look into getting some plugs and an inflator, seems to be more user friendly and not use up much space.
