Hello,
In my Q30S 2018 I have the original media+nav system.
There are few problems with this system:
1. the maps do not cover my country, and there is not way to update it with relevant maps, hence the entire nav system is useless.
2. the system is actually rather lame - generally it is slow, the touch screen is not sensitive enough, and overall functionality is limited.
It looks like a system that was developed to impress potential buyers, but not to actually perform on daily basis. In general I suspect that behind it there is low computing power and minimal RAM.

Anyone knows anything about that?
Anyone has experience in replacing the original system with a 'normal' android system (with more computing power + a nav system that can be updated with any set of maps)? Are there any recommendations for that?

Thanks!

I don't know what theu did exactly, but they have installed a piece of hardware. They used one of the existing usb ports to power that hardware and installed another usb port to plug in the phone. I have to select iphone on the screen and then hold the Menu button (behind the gear shifter) a few seconds and the screen switches to android auto mode. They didn't changed the touchsreen.

Does regular infotainment functions still work when using Android Auto / Car Play e.g. parking sensors, radio, reverse camera?

Everything works. But when I switch to radio I'm not hearing the google maps instructions anymore. Maps will remain visible though.
Interesting, thank you. I am torn between using this our just setting up an old iPad as a secondary screen with Cydia to keep CarPlay loaded up on it.

Following. I'd be happy to hear more details about this issue too.
In my case, the old system became obsolete as well (same as above - no map coverage + the system is old and slow). So a local shop installed a new android system on top of the original one (the car allows two parallel systems), but there is a problem with the touch screen - the original touch screen of the car (it is a Nissan touch screen) does not connect to the android system, meaning I cannot use the touch. Instead, they have installed an external touch pad. I'd be more than happy to find a solution to that.
I have to admit that I find this issue to be really pity. This is a 2018 model and the original multimedia and nav system shouldn't be that lame. I expected for more.
