Hey guys,

Not sure if everyone has seen the recent info released by Infiniti, but it looks like they have decided to change the trim options for 2018. For the 2018 Q30, the line-up brings an entry-level Pure trim, which replaces the SE, as well as Luxe/Luxe Tech and Sport/Sport Tech offshoots that bring a more luxury or sport-focused approach. The new trims should be available to see in showrooms starting in March.

Maybe Q30 sales weren't doing so well and they're now trying to appeal to more budget conscientious buyers. But what's the difference between the Pure trim and SE that it replaces? Did Infiniti strip it of features or added more in?

The Pure trim standard features now include forward collision avoidance, automatic headlamps, LED running lamps, Bluetooth audio streaming and multi-function leather steering wheel. Not sure if that's more or less than what was offered on the SE.

Good to see they're doing this because it could mean they get more people that would have bought a higher trim Nissan. So far nissan doesn't have enough luxury-esque products.

I think everything you've listed is new to the entry-level trim aside from automatic headlamps, that was always a standard feature in the SE trim. Wish they added dual-zone climate control to the list as well, though we can't have our cake and eat it too.

Its a smart move by Infinti to offer more standard features on the baseline model, as we are seeing a push in the market for luxury crossovers. I know the top line models have been criticised for being too pricey, so this should help in attracting new buyers.
