I heard squeezing sound while pressing brake.Service center replaced brake pads and scraped brake rotor on the lathe machine. The car is about 20,000 miles . Old brake pads is GALFER 5007 FF A19 and there was too much brownish powder on the wheel due to brake friction . Is it normal to change pads and machining rotor at this mileage?

It depends on a lot of factors, but if discs (rotors) are in good condition and not less than 50% worn, then a new set of pads would be fine. I guess you would be looking at changing out rotors and pads at around 40K on the information you supplied... From what you described, you were out of brake pad material and down to the steel, steel on steel then scores up fast that is why they lathed the rotor to true them up before fitting new pads (they machine the rotors flat again to remove the scoring). That's a good honest garage as they could have made more money from you on supplying new rotors as well.
