Recently noticed that the 'eyebrow' on my near-side headlamp is not working though the rest of the headlight is OK. Looking at the manual apart from numbering this part as No. 2 in the headlamp diagram it only states 'go to your local Infiniti dealer' for any repair. Has anyone else got an eyebrow led problem and do you have any solutions or shall I just have to put up with it??

Could be water corrosion entering the control circuitry. I'd recommend spraying the heatsinks with WD-40. It's not likely to be the LEDs IMHO.
Worth a try for £6 of WD 🤔🙃🖐

Two types of headlamp.
1) = Standard halogen projector, this view shows the right hand lamp as if you were sitting in the drivers seat and imagined the bonnet open, the heatsink is just visible at the back of the lamp part near the wing. This rearmost heatsink controls the lamp eyebrow LED

2) = full matix LED lamp with 2x extra control drivers with heatsinks bolted to underside of lamp body.

Again, this is a right hand lamp but viewed from underside. These heatsinks can be sprayed from access through the wheel arch panels.

Many thanks Cornish - I will let you know how I get on with this !! Hoping you stay well - I need you!!!
Kind Regards,
Simple Sailor
Would be interested to hear if you had any success with the fix Simple Sailor. I had the same problem with my Q30 (full LED) when I first got the car a couple of years ago and ended up having to replace the complete lamp unit.

Hi Steve,
No success - but I must admit getting the WD 40 into that area either through the wheel arch or engine bay requires a contortionist - why did they ever put that hatch in the wheel arch - first car I have ever had that?? Just as well we have Cornish to give us these helpful hints as that was one I would never have looked for. If I have nothing better to do will give it another try!!!

Yes, definitely worth trying. Just one thing, I’m unsure which are the ‘heatsinks’ that are meant to be sprayed, i.e. which part of the rear section of the lamp unit? Perhaps Cornish could confirm? When I had the issue with my LED I didn’t try this fix, although I would like to know for future reference.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your note - our dear friend Cornish did produce a photo of the heat sink which is basically hanging under the lens assembly like an old fashioned radiator - but it is the wiring connection to that block that needs the WD 40 - I felt that a wiggle of the connectors might be a good idea but was concerned I might break it off if corrosion had set in !!
Will see if I can get at it and give it a go!!

Hi all..again.
My search for a new n/s headlight, full led has so far been useless. Therefore, can the module that controls the drl part if the light be replaced, and if so, are they available anywhere ?. Might be cheaper to at least try this first if it us actually doable. Has anyone seen them for sale anywhere ?

Hi Kev, not my area of expertise but a fellow member here did look at just sorting a module, nissan infiniti would not program it like they will do for mercedes lamp repairs 😖. In the end I think a smashed headlamp with a good control module was the fix. New fitment of second hand module installed and everything was good again.
Cheers. CB.

Well, the new ballast is now fitted, and by some stroke of luck, I have a fully operational headlight, with a bright white DRL.
The old ballast had a burn mark, where something had clearly burnt out, but once the light was out, it was literally 5 minutes to unscrew the ballast, unclip the 2 plugs, and refit the new one. Happy days
