Infiniti Q30 In Red Sport Performance Trim?

Think Infiniti will come out with a Red Sport Performance Trim for the Q30? They already have a red sport sedan (Q50) and coupe (Q60) so why not add a crossover to the mix?

Thoughts on the possibility of one in the future?

Would the engine that they are suing for those two actually fit in the Q30?
Don't see why not, the Q30 is the brands entry-level model and if there's any product they'll move a lot of Red Sport trims, it's going to be on the Q30.
in terms of size and dimension, I assume the engine should fit under the bonnet but things will definitely need to be modified since it was originally designed to handle 205bhp, not the 400hp that the V6 can produce.
It is a world market vehicle, meaning there's more variation in what's included in it from market to market, so i'm sure they have factored in the range of engines offered from the start and projected additions. Plus in most cases if you can fit an I4 engine, a V6 can fit as well since at that point length is not an issue and very rarely width is an issue.
Would the fact that the stock engine is Mercedes, but the new engine is Infiniti make any difference as to its compatibility?
Going to need a few spoilers to keep the crossover planted with that much power. Both the Q50 and Q60 are closer to the ground than the Q30 is. Not sure what else will need to be added or changed.
A good example would be the GLA 45 AMG, it has a spoiler along the lines of what I can imagine the Q30 red sport having.

Shouldn't have compatibility issues, but then again I'm not a mechanic so I wouldn't know. There's an extra cooler in the Infiniti engine but I wouldn't know what that will affect.
It was the best thing for them to do since it streamlines the whole red sport trim they're creating, a powerplant they can put in a few cars and call it a day, plus it's something they might use a lot over time, much like how Lexus uses the V8 in the RC-F, which they had since 2006 with the IS-F sedan.
It is possible. Really want to see what engine goes into the car. Hopefully not a small one like A45.
There are plenty of performance hatches from other brands so it would make sense. The GLA has an AMG model. It would be interesting if the Q30 ended up offering a performance model that is more powerful than what Mercedes if offering.

Ya. There is a possibility they put 3.0tt. If they do, it may not be the 400 one.
The Q50 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 came in either 300 hp or 400 hp variants so maybe the same will apply if a Q30 S ever comes out. Makes more sense to release the more powerful version to draw in interest.
The same should indeed apply since it can't be that hard to use the same powerplant across multiple models especially when they come in as close as the Q50 and Q30 do. Plus if it worked well with the Q50, it's almost a no brainier, after all this is how other car makers operate
I bet they are focusing on these two first and then they will see how sales are. If all that checks out, then they can announce it for the Q30, which would also time nicely to give it some renewed media buzz.
Is the size of 3.0tt too big for Q30? If it is too big will they do a performance 2.0t for Q30?
The engines are described as light weight and also as quite compact. No word on exact numbers, but terms like those make me feel like there is more of a chance.

The advanced engines produced at Iwaki are renowned for their outstanding fuel economy, compact size and light weight, and have won numerous awards in both Japan and the U.S. for their superb performance and superior engineering.

Things like the block I bet are made out of aluminum since that's the biggest part and it's where you always want to start if it makes sense, that is, the biggest part.
Don't forget this is Nissan we are talking about...who can get 400 bhp from a 3 cylinder 1.5 engine...you don't need massive engines to get power like that look up the dig-t-r
