Today Infinti confirmed their earlier confirmation that yes in fact the Q30 will be on hand at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, while at the same time showing us a pre production image of the Q30.
Expect the Q30 with the same 2.0T 4 cylinder doing duty in the CLA and GLA Mercedes. Production will initially come solely from their Sunderland, UK facility, with a joint Mercedes/Infiniti plant in Mexico expected to come online soon enough.
The Q30 wasn't originally scheduled for the US market, but after the success Mercedes has had with their diminutive duo, Infiniti changed their minds. The compact QX30 crossover shouldn't be lagging too far behind either.
Infiniti has stayed true to the original concept, at least externally. More interior details will be revealed come September 1. It's also being bandied about that later in the Q30's life, sometime around the end of 2016/start of 2017 a high-performance version is expected in the same vein as the GLA/CLA 45 AMG's.
