I would book your car into a different Infiniti approved Nissan garage asap if I were you. The consul diagnostic software should be able to test and check all the systems and sub systems. These cars are very complex as I am sure you are aware.

Problem with front lights does come and go depends on the weather conditions fault usually fails before rain then recovers have not come up with definitive answer yet probably a wiring fault but is too sporadic to diagnose you could spend a fortune at a dealer perhaps better to wait until it becomes non functional and live with it until a cure is found

Hi , I recently purchased a 2016 q30s , I’ve just got the same problem 6 weeks into owning the car , I have not changed anything in the settings or done anything myself which could have created this fault, my car is not under a warranty.
Have you found out what causes this fault message?

thank you

Heath

The problem of the fault message appearing on my q30s 2017 still happens (usually before rain) the dealer usually changes the headlights, at great expense, then the fault reoccurs the same as before shortly after....as the problem only results in the auto dim/high beam being inoperative, I ignore the warning (it goes away anyway) and activate the high beam function by switching the headlight switch to the right to illuminate the road if required. although this is only a workaround, I am hoping that the problem, probably a bad connection, will eventually materialise in the future and enable location of the problem to be rectified.

I would try a different dealer. Nissan Infiniti software should be able to test all the modules and find a wiring issue.
I doubt it's the headlight modules if the hi-low works on the stalk. If you are practical have you checked the connector plugs and wiring for issues above the internal mirror as I think that is where the camera is located for the hi-low. Could be as simple as a bad connection issue on one of the mutli plugs? Next is the connectors under the passenger floor mat...

I had car completely cut out on me once, dash warnings of engine injector faults and low oil pressure . Engine just cut out dead stationary at a junction after a four hour drive. The recovery got us home luckily, car had no fault codes but would not start, they could not fix it. It took me about an hour to diagnose it and get it running on temporary fix. Full fix was plugging the tip over sensor under the front passenger mat back in, from build the twin lock plug was only connected on a single lock and it had disconnected itself when passenger stretched their legs out at top of the mat just where the TOS is....
Engine codes galore, all because fuel pump stopped and car wasnt expecting it. 🙂
Check mechanical issues first, electronics are dead reliable.🖐

Hello guys, I have gotten the same problem about a month ago. It first showed up on the dash after car was unused for about a week. I thought that it relates to the battery level but since then start stop is working like it always was, everything else isn't a problem however the passenger side headlight seems struggle to adjust the beam correctly and tend to do so every now and then while engine is running.

Its annoying because everything else is faultless and that one error keep coming every time I start the car. I'm about to book it in to the dealer that sold the car to me almost 2 years ago (silver link Hyundai it's called now after infiniti backed off the UK market) but my worst fear is the bill I'd get for new headlight unit if that's what's causing it.

So did anyone ever got a solution to this or found out it was caused by anything else other than the headlight malfunction?

Hi Zochus. How much condensation have you in the lamps? I have been lucky not to have any issues but I have a rediculous amount of condensation in the head lamps. I think without modification to sort this the components would corrode badly. I would check the plastic wheel arch covers are in place and remove the back bulb covers (they are just covers) and let the lamps to be air dry. I did this over the weekend. I am going to install gore vents and silica gel packs in mine. Remember if they do diagnose the headlamp itself you can get a second hand one from breakers / Ebay at about 50% cost...
Good luck. 🖐

Oh dear, this is not looking good for all of us with the LED headlamp systems.
No fix and no information on the issue from official channels 😕

Hi,

I’ve recently had a number of electrical faults on my car , a Q30S 2.2 (2016).
My main problem was the automatic engine stop start was not working and the car would stall when it tried to restart itself, The other problems included the adaptive headlights inoperative warning ⚠ plus other faults.
I took my car to my local Nissan Infiniti dealer in Stockport, they diagnosed the faults as all related to low voltage on the main battery and the auxiliary battery. They cleared the faults and replaced both batteries and now the car is running perfectly like it was when it was brand-new. I do not get any more warnings about the headlights I do not have anymore stop start issues ,the car is running perfectly.
I would recommend getting a diagnostic check first and there is a high chance the faults will be down to low voltage.
Hope this helps.

Had the same problem, been to the dealership - they are claiming that no faults were found during the
diagnostic scan and it is probably just caused by a low battery.

Apparently this is what Infiniti is telling its service points.

Pointing out that a low battery should really give a low battery warning, not just randomly turn something off was not well-received. I was told that I should take that up with Infiniti.

Has anyone received a print out of the error log from this problem ? I would love to see what was recorded for other vehicles.

You can check the state of your main module by seeing through the flap above your wheel if you can see it being very dirty and covered in road stuff it will likely be the module. Until now I haven't had a single issue with any faults
Could a low battery be the cause in your case / have you ever checked the battery voltage when the issue occurs ?

Battery can't be the case. My module itself is burned inside and has a moisture and oxidisation damage from the road salt during winter months etc. Headlight however is working as I've checked it with the module from the other one which works fine.

Hi, any update on the headlamp fix?
Hi, yes, I did post a positive update a while back, basically all of the faults including the head light faults were due to low voltage being stored in the battery and the auxiliary battery , my Nissan/Infiniti dealer swapped both batteries and the car has been running like new ever since , FYI my car is a 2016 so the batteries were coming up to 5 years old , The auto electrician at the dealership said they change a lot of infinity Q 30 batteries around the five year mark and this always resolves any electrical issues.

hope that helps ?
Yesterday I replied to a query about the outside temperature gauge on the display, my model will only show the outside temperature when the engine is switched off but the ignition key is turned to the first position. It’s just above the R reverse symbol on the dash. Here is the picture again if you’re interested....

I hope that information helped you out.

Hi, any update on the headlamp fix?
Hi Cornish_Blue,

I've managed to get the headlights working. Eventually but news aren't great.

I've gone through 3 modules bought off ebay from different sellers and it turns out they only do one version of these which aren't compatible with our cars. Although the serial numbers match, the pcb version is different and headlight wouldn't wok as they should. Also they all have one supplier as every single module was packed in the same box, same wrapping inside. I've messaged one seller asking if they can provide module with what would be an earlier version of the pcb but they got back to me that they can only supply this one which is no good.

I was going to risk the Mercedes genuine module although there's a problem. If by any chance it isn't the right one Mercedes will supply it, but as soon as you get it open i mean its original packaging you can't return it in case it isnt the right variant meaning you're left with £230 in your hand and your struggle to sell it on.

I have managed to get hold of a whole headlight although damaged on ebay for £75 shipped from ebay. It had broken lens and was sold as spares or repair but described as fully working. So the 4th headlight I've ordered turned out to be working and modules it had were in great condition.

Cornish_Blue, have you actually taken out your headlight unit to see what condition the module is? Until you remove it and see if it has any water damage or burns on the pcb you can't tell if it's the modules fault or the headlight itself.

Also i am now left with last error message on the screen which is the adaptive headlight not working but o believe this is due to the auxiliary battery which I am about to order today.

Appreciate the update and all your hard work. I have not removed my headlights, but I have checked the heatsinks and keep them clean with WD40 to drive the moisture out.
I have the wheel arch covers in place and do not have any issues at present. I fitted silica gel packs in the head lamp voids to control the moisture behind the lenses as all LED plastic headlamps have moisture issues according to forums.
I have checked my auxiliary battery and although three years old it reported 100% status of health and 220Ah current capacity. Checkout the exide EK131 I think this is our battery? Although very impressed with the mercedes battery which is Italian I think and not an exide.
Cornish_Blue are you sure your auxiliary battery the one under the cabin/pollen filter is 220Ah? That would be the main under the hood battery since the auxiliary battery is somewhere around motorcycle battery size and so would be the capacity
