The 2016 Infiniti Q30 was given five stars by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program. The standard low- and high-speed autonomous emergency braking and the active bonnet that protects the pedestrians definitely helped.
It actually looks pretty bad from this frontal view in a side crash test but it probably didn't cave in as much as we think. Wish they have pictures of the car after it's been crushed.
Seems like the Q30's worst performance area is the rear passenger whiplash where it received a score of poor. Overall, the areas affect on the dummy are green for "good".
Even with a booster seat its not an issue. The most i've seen some kids get are right up to where the seat ends and the head rest starts but at that points its just the top of their head clearing that area. All they need is to be seated properly.
