Default Carbuyer Q30 Review

Carbuyer has recently taken the Q30 for a test drive and he's giving it a pretty good review. Most of his concerns has to do with the rear seat space and the cost but that seems to be pretty much it.

Good review and he does make a good point of checking out its rivals, too many people are loyal to brands more than they should, it's so bad they're blind to what could be a better product, better to them.

Now with GLA's being out for some time already and based on the same platform, it might make sense to some to buy a used GLA.

PROS
Interesting design
Competitive efficiency
Safety tech

CONS
Higher trim levels expensive
1.5 diesel feels sluggish
Cramped cabin

Most people going for a crossover are looking for Competitive efficiency first and foremost along with design and then safety which all three are listed as Pros for the Q30. So it's should suit a large range of buyers.

Yea but German brands aren't really known for reliability so a second hand GLa could have a lot of bugs and problems. The Q30 is based on the same chassis as the Mercedes A-Class and if you wait a bit the price should go down and there are dealership sales too.

That's true, however if you keep it under warranty, for the most part you're in the clear.

I have tried the 1.5d. It is really lack of power.

Was it the acceleration? Felt like you weren't really getting anywhere with the 1.5?

The acceleration is poor...If you want to take over others, it is going to be hard...

Sounds like people will probably go with the 2.0-liter turbo QX30 if they want to go on the highway with it. Need that acceleration to get up to speed and merge.
Problem is, NA may not be getting the larger engine...

That is what I can see them doing but at least the base acts as a good base for those that just want to commute without thinking much about power. It makes even more sense when you think about the demographic this is targeting and what they will need.
