I was invited to test drive a Q30 the other day, it was a follow up to a request which I had made a while ago as for some time I have been looking for the right (for me) SUV/Crossover/whatever. Infiniti at the time offered me to test drive a diesel version so I said no thank you I am not a truck driver, be kind enough to contact me when you have a petrol version with automatic gearbox, i.e. a proper car.
I was a bit prejudiced because, having looked at the specs, I was not overwhelmed by the ride height but well, I had nothing better to do and it was free, so I went.
I was offered to drive a 1.6t 7DCT (156 PS) and well, as soon as I was at the wheel, I felt immediately at home, the car feels good right from the start, it’s very comfortable, nimble, nippy and thoroughly enjoyable and I ended up buying it a couple of days later (note that I had been looking for the right car for about a year).
I bought the Premium Tech model with Intouch navigation pack, safety pack and the indispensable glass roof. Why indispensable, because the car, not being exactly an SUV, is not very high whereas on the other hand ground clearance is higher than most non SUV cars and therefore the headroom is not huge and if you don’t have a glass roof, you may feel a bit claustrophobic.
