Default Infiniti Q30 In Red Sport Performance Trim?

Think Infiniti will come out with a Red Sport Performance Trim for the Q30? They already have a red sport sedan (Q50) and coupe (Q60) so why not add a crossover to the mix?

Thoughts on the possibility of one in the future?

Would the engine that they are suing for those two actually fit in the Q30?

Don't see why not, the Q30 is the brands entry-level model and if there's any product they'll move a lot of Red Sport trims, it's going to be on the Q30.

in terms of size and dimension, I assume the engine should fit under the bonnet but things will definitely need to be modified since it was originally designed to handle 205bhp, not the 400hp that the V6 can produce.

It is a world market vehicle, meaning there's more variation in what's included in it from market to market, so i'm sure they have factored in the range of engines offered from the start and projected additions. Plus in most cases if you can fit an I4 engine, a V6 can fit as well since at that point length is not an issue and very rarely width is an issue.

Would the fact that the stock engine is Mercedes, but the new engine is Infiniti make any difference as to its compatibility?

Going to need a few spoilers to keep the crossover planted with that much power. Both the Q50 and Q60 are closer to the ground than the Q30 is. Not sure what else will need to be added or changed.

A good example would be the GLA 45 AMG, it has a spoiler along the lines of what I can imagine the Q30 red sport having.

Shouldn't have compatibility issues, but then again I'm not a mechanic so I wouldn't know. There's an extra cooler in the Infiniti engine but I wouldn't know what that will affect.

It was the best thing for them to do since it streamlines the whole red sport trim they're creating, a powerplant they can put in a few cars and call it a day, plus it's something they might use a lot over time, much like how Lexus uses the V8 in the RC-F, which they had since 2006 with the IS-F sedan.
